Editor’s Note: A New Year is going to bring lots of ups and downs. During this month, I will be discussing four experiences that you will no doubt experience in 2022 (“4 Experiences That Will Transform You in the New Year”). Here is Part 4.
“Strange, what being forced to slow down could do to a person.” — Nicholas Sparks
COVID has wreaked a lot of havoc. But it has been a positive for me because it has forced me to slow down. Pre-COVID, I was saying yes to too many things that were not aligned with my life’s mission, which is to be significant by serving millions and bringing them into a relationship with Christ, starting with my wife, Kelli, and our daughters, Mackenzi and Mackenna.
Millions of boys dream of becoming a Major League Baseball player. For some, it will become a reality, while others will experience heartache and disappointment because they continue to say yes to the wrong things and people.
Some boys say yes to unhealthy food, drugs, alcohol, the wrong coaches, trainers and baseball teams. Slow down and think about what you lose and who you hurt when you say yes to the wrong things and the wrong people.
Humans are flawed, and we often learn best when we fail. Just remember to do four things throughout the year to manage your ups and downs.
To help keep your skills sharp, we have introduced a new type of Skill Build—our Virtual Skill Build—where I can help you develop hitting skills anytime, anywhere using anything.
Remember: Intelligence tops being smart.
