As a hitter, regardless of age and ability, you’re always in an assessment, building, converting or maintenance phase of hitting.
What does it take to become an elite hitter? Okay, give me any answer other than “hard work.” What doesn’t get measured doesn’t get improved, so success for my clients isn’t just limited to batting averages. We’ll discuss that in more detail in later blogs.
Being a good hitter is about having good habits. In order to build a habit, it takes a minimum of 3,000 quality repetitions. Your swing is broken down into six parts: the stance, load, approach, contact, extension and finish. One of the major reasons Diamond Directors client Jason Heyward was successful during last year’s Major League season was because he received 3,000 quality reps in all parts of his swing.
And yes, you’re right, that’s a lot of reps. But that’s what it takes to be elite.
After an initial assessment last off-season in my Hitting Lab, Jason and I went to work in my weekly 3K Swing Club class – sessions that covered every part of his swing.
The 3K Swing Club helps me diagnose the problems in my clients’ swings. During the 3K Club, you get 200 to 300 reps. So, after 15 classes, you’ll be good to go when we hit your individual training sessions.
Good hitters don’t work hard; they work smart
November is the best time to get the reps. These reps will bring you closer to being able to repeat your swing. Success doesn’t just happen by accident at Diamond Directors. We start with an assessment of all our hitters in the Hitting Combine.
There, I can see how you learn, which will help me better teach you. I’ll also become more aware of any physical weaknesses you may have – ones that might prevent you from taking a good swing and/or repeating it.
After the assessment, the 3K Club allows me to build your body while building your swing.
As a hitter, regardless of age and ability, you’re always in an assessment, building, converting or maintenance phase of hitting.
Remember: My 3K Classes are guaranteed to work, but they fill up quickly. Click here to secure your spot today.
