I hate to state the obvious, but baseball is the ultimate game of failure. The wicked truth is that you can fail 70 percent of the time at the plate and still be considered successful (three hits out of 10 appearances translates into .300 average).
During practice, you take hundreds of swings every week just to get four at bats in the game. So, how do you know if you’re taking “good” swings in practice? If you know what you’re doing, you can keep doing it. If you don’t know, you can’t fix it.
The Atlanta Braves’ Jason Heyward is destined to have another great season because he has a good swing that is repeatable and can be adjusted. Barring injury, we’ll see amazing things from J-Hey this spring because he is prepared.
J-Hey repeated his swing at a rate of 80 percent this off-season. How do I know? I created a swing assessment test that measures a hitter’s ability to hit targets. The frequency allows me to determine your ability to repeat your approach.
