Editor’s Note: This is final blog in our three-part series challenges what you know about being/staying on track to competing at the collegiate and/professional baseball levels.
How do you define the word “coach”? Who’s the best coach you have ever had? Where did he or she move you from and where are you headed?
If you want to be (and stay) on track to competing at the collegiate and/professional baseball levels, you must be instructed by a professional, not a facilitator or advisor.
To read Part 1 in the series, check out “Why You Need 250 At-bats Per Year (And How to Get There).” Part 2 — “How do you define commitment and discipline?” — is available here.
A Professional Baseball Coach has a clear, concise and consistent baseball development philosophy, methodology, phases of development, educational content, success, etc.
A Professional Baseball Facilitator does not have a clear, concise and consistent baseball development philosophy, methodology, phases of development, educational content, success, etc. He or she executes baseball activities for a Professional Baseball Coach.
Professional Advisors are individuals who understand the system of baseball well enough to help you strategically reach your desired outcome (college scholarship and/or professional baseball contract). They use a clear, concise and consistent philosophy, and methodology to prevent you from wasting your time and money. They have an obligation and direct connect relationships that allows them to guarantee you will be at the right place at the right time.
I am Professional Baseball Coach who can also professionally facilitate and advise.
